Ep 26 – Stock Trading App I Love More Than Instagram with Katie Perry

Katie Perry from public.com app talks how to invest

Investing can feel daunting and downright intimidating. Katie Perry, the VP of Marketing for Public.com – financially backed by Will Smith – shares how women are changing their investing habits. Listen up, ladies!

Public is a commission-free stock and ETF trading app that makes trading social. I’ve been using this app for over a month and love the full experience, which Katie and I get into. It’s an amazing resource to learn about investing, stocks and news. And yes, I do love it more than Instagram these days because I find my time spent on Public as educational and useful.

In this episode, I share my personal investments, how I use the Public app to make money in the stock market, and how Katie and I both wish we learned more about finances when we were younger. Aside from explaining how the app works, the juice is in the conversation about investing in general and how, as women, we should have more conversations about money with friends and family. Money should not be so taboo. The more we share, the more we learn and can make wiser investment choices.

Katie shares her career path and incredible insight on how she chooses to not be intimidated by industries she is not fully familiar with. She says NAH to imposter syndrome by doing the work each day and continuing to learn.

I know what I’m looking for in opportunities. What other people do is great, but I focus on my career needs and no one else’s. I look for a resonating mission, a strong product, leaders with integrity, and making an impact. — Katie Perry
