Anxiety has such a negative connotation, but is all anxiety bad for you? There is an optimal level of anxiety that actually increases your productivity.
Optimal anxiety helps you focus and feel motivated, but the trick is finding that sweet spot of just the right amount of anxiety. The below bell-curve represents that optimal level. Too little anxiety shows up when you’re in that “comfort zone” where there is a lack of urgency or interest. Too much anxiety can be debilitating and crippling making someone over question everything, feel overwhelmed, or become unable to clearly function.

That optimal level of arousal, in the middle, is what you want to hit. That is where you feel like a fire is inside you and it’s focused on the task at hand. It makes you feel connected to what you’re doing accompanied with a strong interest in accomplishing things.
